Anyone can enter except those who have studied in a formal program with this year’s judge within the last two years. Manuscripts must be typed, paginated, and roughly 120-160 pages in length or 50,000-80,000 words and don’t include your name in the manuscript or title and submit in Microsoft Word or PDF formats only. Translations and self-published books are not eligible. The manuscript must be the product of only one author.

Anyone 18 years and older can enter. The submission is a project (draft) of an illustrated children’s book in Polish or in English language. Submission should include a storyboard or a script of the whole book, together with 3 finished double spreads and a summary in English (obligatory) and in Polish (only if the whole project is in Polish). Length of the script should not exceed 5,400 characters including spaces. It should be your original work.

Main theme factor is dark, wild sea, no children’s lit or erotica permitted. Entry should be in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format and don’t include your name anywhere on the document or file. Submissions should be previously unpublished (never published in print or online, including a personal blog).Only one entry per writer.

Only Canadian resident authors can apply. Authors may provide up to a maximum of 3 manuscripts per month and must be submitted within one email in separate files in Microsoft Word format. Previously published content may not be included in any submitted manuscript. Manuscripts should be no longer than 26 pages, not including the cover page.

Essay should be between 8,000 and 10,000 words in length, written in English, in a form suitable for publication, and must be principally focused on some aspect of Scottish women’s or gender history. If your entry is a film of a spoken word/storytelling performance, please also send us a document with the text of the piece. Audio recordings should be sent as an MP3 file. Field of study is related to law, criminal justice, or political science.
