Note you may see the release notes for any of the older releases of Kotobee anytime.
Now let’s see what this release has to offer.
Notifications
Kotobee’s library and cloud allow authors a lot of control, and we’ve only made things better. We have widened the range of notifications you receive from within Kotobee. The platform now supports 3 different kinds of notifications:
- system notifications,
- push notifications, and
- email notifications.
This gives you full control over which types of notifications you’d like to receive through your library or cloud ebook’s notifications settings page. You will be able to instantly monitor anything that takes place inside your ebook. These can be triggered either by actions made by your team members (e.g. a member who has uploaded a new book to your library) or by the reader (e.g. logging into a cloud ebook).
Rich-Text in Notes
This new feature is a much-needed one for your readers. Your users will now be able to insert more complex notes, with the help of HTML. This new customization option “Rich-text in notes” will make a rich-text editor toolbar appear when users are entering or editing notes. This is especially helpful in ebooks where readers are learning something, particularly in educational and academic ebooks.
Chapter-Specific Access Enhancements
In our latest release, we added chapter-specific access as one of Kotobee Author’s new features. Enhancements have been made since then, such that a “Restricted” label which will appear next to chapters that users are not authorized to access. Chapter-specific access has now been extended to cloud ebooks, LTI courses, and user roles.
Video and Audio Included in Media Tab
There’s also been a new addition to the “Media” tab inside your ebook app. The Media tab now can optionally list video and audio inside your ebook, alongside images.
Conclusion
In addition to these big features and enhancement, this release has a few bug fixes that occurred during our last release. These features will change your author experience, and we hope it will be for the best!
